Who is CKCC?

Central Kitsap Christian Church is a Nondenominational fellowship of believers who have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, and wear no name but Christian.

Statement of Faith

We believe that Christ is the head of His Church and therefore every Christian is a part of that body.

We do not believe that we are the only Christians, but earnestly strive to be Christians only.

We seek to speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible is silent.

We take the Bible and the Bible alone as our rule of faith and practice.

The original Church that we read about in the Bible was a church where salvation made you a member, so we at Cenrtal Kitsap follow that pattern.

We refuse to impose upon people more than the Word of God asks to become a Christian or to require less than the Word states. Therefore, membership here requires that one believe in Jesus Christ as God's Son and be obedient in Christian Baptism, which scripturally is burial of a penitent believer by immersion in water.

Philosophy of Ministry

Our Commission:

Central Kitsap Christian Church’s purpose is to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples. Jesus Christ has commanded us to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit and to teach them to obey everything He commanded us in Scripture. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Definition of a Disciple:

A disciple is one who is developing the attitudes, behaviors, beliefs, habits and priorities which we find in the New Testament. We see them in four phases:
1. A disciple in the Discovery phase is one who has a desire to know more about God. At the completion of this phase they will have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and been buried with Christ through baptism.
2. A disciple in the Explorer phase is an immersed believer who intends to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
3. A disciple in the Endeavour phase is sure of their calling and trusts Christ to fulfill that calling.
4. A disciple in the Challenger phase desires to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ “to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). They realize the dangers involved but their mind is set on accomplishing the tasks to which the Holy Spirit has called them and they are willing to lose their life for the sake of the Gospel.

This philosophy of ministry was written for Central Kitsap Christian Church to assist us in making disciples. It was written based on the structure of the church at that time. As CKCC grows it may become necessary to change our philosophy of ministry to allow us to develop new strategies so that our growth does not become stagnated. Changes to our philosophy of ministry may be made by the elders.

There is a grace period of 24 months following the adoption of this document by the congregation to allow leaders time to complete apprenticeships and small groups.
